Estate agents could be replaced by robots, it has been claimed.
Other occupations at risk include typists and retail workers.
Altogether, nearly half (47%) of 702 occupations analysed are at risk of being replaced by robotic technology, according to Dr Carl Frey of Oxford University.
He told the BBC: “I was somewhat surprised when we arrived at that 47%.
“But the lines between man and machine are becoming increasingly blurred. We are seeing some jobs automated already, but not to the extent that we believe they will be over the next few decades.”
Should any estate agent be thinking of retraining, jobs that remain safe from robotic technology include acting, firefighting and being a priest.
Today, the UK is set to unveil its robotics strategy.
Apparently, we have something called the Technology Strategy Board, whose vision encompasses things like self-driving cars.
But self-selling houses? How would that work?
